HKUST ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FORMS
The newly-formed Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Alumni Association (HKUSTAA) is recruiting members from the growing ranks of graduates.
“We aim to be a bridge between the University and its graduates,” said Amy Wong Wan Ting, the association’s first president.
The HKUSTAA’s six-member executive committee is negotiating with the University about alumni use of campus facilities.
The HKUST Alumni Association is in the early stages of development, building a database of University graduates, recruiting new members and securing an office for its regular use.
“Our goal this year is to produce an alumni newsletter,” Amy Wong said. The group also actively supports the University. The HKUST Career Centre recently invited members to speak with prospective graduates about job hunting and careers.
Since it opened in 1991, the University has awarded degrees to 855 graduates, including 576 bachelor’s degrees, 278 master’s degrees and 1 PhD.
