Joseph Najnudel was a student in École Nomale Supérieure and he received his Ph.D. in probability theory from University Paris 6. He is now holding positions at Institut de Mathématiques de Toulouse
Université Paul Sabatier and
University of Cincinnati. Besides his roll as a mathematician, Joseph is also a professional musician. He earned a diploma from Conservatory of Paris, where he obtained several prizes and awards. He is regularly doing concerts of classical music, and has composed many works for piano. Joseph was one of only two French mathematicians to win two gold medals in the International Math Olympiad. One of his gold medals was obtained in Taipei, Taiwan in
1998 (so this is his second visit to Taiwan).
