Part 3

Gigi is reading a postcard from her cousin in the US.

Read the postcard.

Hello Gigi,

Do you like the picture printed on the back of the postcard? I am sure you have never seen this in Hong Kong but it is very common in the US every Christmas! It’s so cold that I have to wear thick clothes and boots every time I go out.

This year, my family and I are celebrating Christmas in a hot way – we are going to Thailand! I have never been there before and I’m looking forward to the trip! For the past few years, I had to study for my tests during Christmas. But this year, it is so lucky that the tests will be in February so I can enjoy the holiday! Hurray!

What is your plan for Christmas, Gigi?

I mailed you a present which can surely keep you warm during winter! Hope you will like it!

Please say hi to your parents for me.

Take care, Thomas

Healthy eating

I love eating potato chips very much. They are tasty and easy to buy.

However, my doctor says I am overweight and sick. I need to stop eating snacks. It is important to keep myself healthy. He tells me to drink plenty of water and eat fresh vegetables every day. Apples and bananas are my favourite fruit. Now I am getting fitter and happier!
