課程教學目標: The purpose of this course is to help students develop an indispensable foundation for pursuing a liberal arts education: competence in English at college level.
課程綱要: This course introduces students to the principles of English learning. Four different skills in learning English will be taught in the class are listening, speaking, reading and writing. The students will learn from a wide variety of text materials, including newspaper articles, interviews, personal narratives and essays through the require readings. Also, a variety of projects, homework, quizzes, oral presentations, and exams will all be given during the semester.

100% attendance is expected. If you must miss a class or need to arrive late, please let Ms. Tseng know. Make up work can be arranged if you inform the teacher in advance. However, each excused absence will result in a one-point reduction of your final grade. Each unexcused absence will reduce your final grade by two points. 4-hour s unexcused absence will result in a fail ing grade for the course .
