Course: General English (外國語文—英文)
Instructor: 張 寳 燕 (Mrs. Goretti Tse, Professor)
Objective: This course is designed to provide students with a framework for improving essential English language skills and to help students develop their competence and confidence in English as well.
Course Description: The classroom activities include lectures, discussions, listening &
speaking practices, etc. The reading materials focus on a variety of topics
and current issues to increase students’ ability of appreciation of English reading on the one hand and to develop students’ accuracy in academic reading comprehension on the other. Listening and speaking practices are also provided to help students develop their basic skills needed for following and participating in a conversation.

Requirements:
1.Quizzes & class participation 20%, mid-term exam 40%, final exam 40%
2.If you miss classes for a total of three times without acceptable excuses, you will NOT be allowed to take the final exam.

授課方式: 閱讀部分以老師講解、同儕討論方式進行。聽力及口語部分以聆聽錄音(影)帶和內容分析、口 頭練習方式進行。
