Advances in Biotechnology Makes Becoming Beautiful Easier

lastic surgeryhas been around for a long time. It is popular with women as well as men who would like to look more attractive by changing their appearance slightly. Recently, biotechnology hasreplacedsome traditional cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. It is not as scary as surgery and it is still quite effective.Theplacenta extract injectionis one of the most popular ways that many people choose to change their looks, though it is still banned in Taiwan. Nevertheless, skin doctors have indicated that the source of the placenta is important since there is a risk ofinfectionif the person or animal that the placenta comes from suffers certain diseases.
Botox injections can smooth out the wrinkles on people’s faces. The effects can be seen in about a week. Hyaluronic acid injections can flatten small facial holes, shape noses, andenhancelips. The effect is instant, though patients suffer more pain than with Botox injections.
Patients are not allowed to lie down, lean forward, or exercisevigorouslyfor a few hours after getting a Botox injection. If the injection location is wrong, patients might experienceimpairedfacial muscle movement or be unable to close their eyes naturally. Hyaluronic acid injections may cause temporary swellinganditchiness.
Although more advanced biotechnology has made it easier to become prettier, doctors do suggest that people think thoroughly about how and what they want to change before they go through with any procedures.

Tenth Anniversary of Princess Diana’s Death
P
eople all around the world recently marked the 10thanniversaryof the death of Princess Diana. On August 31st, 1997 Diana was traveling in a car at high speed with threecompanionswhen it crashed head-on into a concrete pillar. Diana’s then-current boyfriend, Dodi Al-Fayed, as well as the car’s driver were killed instantly. Diana died shortly after in anambulanceon the way to the hospital. The onlysurvivorof the crash was Princess Diana’s bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones. The crash was first blamed on thepaparazziwho were following Diana’s car in order to get pictures of her. It was later discovered, however, that the driver of Diana’s car had been both drinking and using drugs on the evening of the accident and should not have been driving.The death of Diana was followed by a massiveoutpouringofgriefby millions of her fans and admirers.
Theraw displaysof emotion in Diana’s homeland wereuncharacteristicof the British who are renowned for holding back their emotions during difficult times. Herfuneral, held about a week after the accident, was watched on television by over two billion people.
Diana was not only the Princess of Wales through her marriage to Prince Charles, butwasalso heavily involved inmany charitiesand did much to bring public attention to such issues as AIDS andlandmines.
Her selfless devotion to these and othercauses made her the most popular and loved member of Britain’s Royal Family.
