Teach Mandarin in the United States

The Teachers of Critical Languages Program brings teachers of English or Mandarin as a Foreign Language to the U.S. for one year to teach Mandarin to American primary and secondary school students and serve as cultural resources for their host schools and communities.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

All TCLP candidates must complete an online application process:

ELIGIBILITY

TCLP is merit-based and open to anyone who:

• Is a resident of Taiwan;

• Is currently a full-time teacher of English or Mandarin as a Foreign Language in a primary or secondary (K-12) school in Taiwan;

• Has at least four years of full-time classroom teaching experience at the time of application;

• Has a firm understanding of Mandarin;

• Has at least a bachelor’s degree;

• Is prepared to teach for the entire U.S. academic year with leave time limited to school breaks;

• Is proficient in written and spoken English; and

Demonstrates a commitment to continue teaching after the completion of the program.
