摘要: 台灣休閒農業發展，從產業生命週期的觀點，可劃分為下列五期：
1.萌芽期（1980 年以前）－觀光農園草創期 2.成長前期（1980 至 1989 年）－休閒農業探索期 3.成長中期（1989 至 2000 年）－休閒農業倡導期 4.成長後期（2000 至 2003 年）－休閒農業茁壯期 5.發展期（2004 年迄今）－休閒農業發展期
其次，台灣休閒農業未來的發展方向歸納如下12 項：
1.特色化－善用資源，結合農村文化，塑造農場特色 2.體驗化－重視遊客參與，設計體驗活動
3.知識化－知性探索，結合導覽解說提供自然教育的機會 4.生態化－維護自然環境，提供生態旅遊
5.健康化－發揮養生功能，促進健康 6.合法化－遵守法令規章，合法營運
7.區域化－以地區為範圍，發揮集聚經濟的優勢 8.精緻化－提高服務品質，精緻化經營
9.效率化－導入現代化管理系統，提高經營績效 10.渡假化－開發長留客市場，提供深沈的農村體驗 11.融合化－秉持鄉村的主體性，促進城鄉交流 12.國際化－擴大視野，邁向國際旅遊市場
In the view of industry life cycle, the development of leisure agriculture in
Taiwan can be decided to the five stages as followings:
1. The initial stage (before1980), as the period of sightseeing garden establishing.
2. The front growth stage (1980~1989), as the period of leisure agriculture exploring.
3. The middle growth stage (1989~2000), as the period of leisure agriculture extending.
4. The latter growth stage (2000~2003), as the period of leisure agriculture sprouting.
5. The development stage (after2004), as the period of leisure agriculture mature.
Secondly, the future development of leisure agriculture in Taiwan can pointed out the following twelve directions:
1. Utilizing the resources and connecting with the rural civilization, to make the characteristics for the leisure farm.
2. Paying much attention to the involving of tourists and experience designing.
3. Strengthening the tourist guiding and explaining to acquire the nature knowledge.
4. Protecting the nature environment, and programming the eco- tourism.
5. Promoting healthing living by designing the organic meals.
6. Operating legally by following the laws and regulations.
7. Extending the area of leisure agriculture to produces the advantage of agglomerate
economy.
8. Improving the service and upgrading the quality of management of leisure farm.
9. Introducing the modern management system to improve the performance of leisure
farm. 10.Exploring the market of long-stay tourist to provide the deeply meaningful experience.
11.Holding on the rurality and promoting the interaction between and rural.
12.Expanding the international vision and marching toward the foreign tourism market.
