Statin use and risk of depression: a Swedish national cohort study

Statin類降血脂的藥物治療能預防心臟疾病，機轉方面有很多種，例如: (1)減少 膽固醇；(2)減少發炎反應；(3)抗氧化性傷害。並且好奇當發炎反應與氧化壓力發生 在憂鬱症的患者，服用statin類降血脂藥能否減少憂鬱症的發展。於是在瑞典國家取 2006到2008年40歲以上的成人為樣本調查兩者之間的關係，發現到大多Statin藥物能 夠減少憂鬱症的勝算(odds)，尤其是最常使用的Simvastatin，然而Atorvastatin卻會 增加其勝算(odds)，不只如此，隨著使用年齡增長，其勝算比率逐漸下降。
