HKUST OPENS ITS DOOR TO FORM SEVEN STUDENTS
Thousands of Form Seven students and their teachers will be invited to visit HKUST this Saturday for a closer look at its degree programmes, campus facilities and student life.
On HKUST’s first Outreach Day, these prospective undergraduates will have a chance to explore the different disciplines in the Schools of Science, Engineenng and Business & Management through various academic seminars and departmental exhibition booths at the Atrium and the Academic Concourse. Face-to-face contact with the faculty will provide students with the most relevant and up-to-date information to help them in their choice of programmes.
Student participation is greatly encouraged. In the booth tours, they may build their own radio receivers, use the World Wide Web and even obtain their own digitized photos.
Students will also be introduced to UST’s state-of-the-art laboratories. Demonstrations on mobile communication, robotics, microelectronics and transportation models will introduce them to an academic world featured by hi-tech.
They will find campus life fun as they tour around the University’s sports facilities and watch corn etitions between staff and student teams.

Other facilities to be opened include Student Halls, the Careers Centre, the Library, the Language Centre and the Computer Barns.
University staff and students will be stationed in all open areas to give students first-hand information on facilities, tours, seminars and other activities.
To provide students with the necessary information for choosing programmes, the HKUST Undergraduate Prospectus 96-97 will be available for all Form Seven students that day.
Secondary students in other forms are also welcome.
