Internet of things (IoT) is an idea from computer science. By connecting things like lights and doors to a computer network, we can make our homes or offices “intelligent.” Instead of turning on the light switch, you can control the lighting with an app, your voice, or even your face! Imagine all the things at your home are connected to the Internet. Once you arrive home, your door can open and the lights are on after they “see” your face, “hear” your voice. When the sun rises, your windows open wide. And, of course, they close at sunset. Isn’t it just amazing?

This technology can bring us benefits, but at the same time, it brings about some concerns. First, we may be worried about having no privacy. All the

information of the users is stored on the Internet to have IoT run. If someone hacks into the network, the information can be stolen easily. Second, we can depend on IoT too much. If we get used to using IoT in our daily lives, we may get too lazy, and even don’t know how to live. The last concern is that some people may lose jobs because of IoT. Since simple tasks can be done on their own, why bother hire a person to do them for you?

68. What’s the main idea of this passage?

(A) The use of Internet of things can bring concerns to our lives. (B) The development of IoT brings a lot of benefits to our lives. (C) The Internet makes our lives a lot more dangerous than ever. (D) Technology is changing too quickly for us to keep up with.
