Distinguished Scholar to Lecture on Accounting at HKUST
A free public lecture on accounting research will be given by the world renowned scholar Professor Nicholas Dopuch on August 4 at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
Professor Nicholas Dopuch is currently Distinguished Professor of Accounting at Washington University in St. Louis. A graduate of the University of Illinois with a PhD in accounting, he taught at the University of Chicago for 23 years. He has been an editor and co-editor of the most prestigious accounting journal, the Journal of Accounting Research, since 1968.
One of the most influential scholars in his profession, Professor Dopuch has set the pace of accounting research for a quarter of a century. He has won the American Institute of Certified Pubiic Accountants Award for Outstanding Contributions to Accounting Literature on two occasions, and in 1981 he received the American Accounting Association’s Outstanding Accounting Educator Award.
The lecture is sponsored by the Department of Accounting of HKUST. Accounting professionals, business executives, scholars and students are welcome. The schedule is as follows:
