The Far-Eastern State Technical University is a leading higher educational institution in the Russian Far East and a successor of the

Oriental Institute, which was founded in 1899. Nowadays the FESTU students study for

degrees in more than 100 programs and qualifications.

The FESTU is a nationally supported University controlled by the Ministry of

Education of Russia. Due to this fact, 80% of all students do not pay tuition. Students are

usually admitted from the Far East and Siberia, international students come primarily from

The student body of all the Institutes, Branches, and training centers of the University is more than 17,000 full-time and part-time students.

The FESTU is a nationally supported University controlled by the Ministry of Education of Russia. Due to this fact, 80% of all students do not pay tuition. Students are usually admitted from the Far East and Siberia, international students come primarily from China and Korea. The FESTU’s faculty consists of more than 800 instructors in total, including 150 Doctors of Sciences and Professors (highest academic degree and rank in Russia), over 400 Candidates of Sciences and Associate Professors.
