Abstract
Our earlier study of 195 normal Caucasian signal-averaged electrocardiogram (SAECG) has shown that the criteria should be sex dependent. No studies on racial variation were done on SAECG. The purpose is to evaluate the effects of age, gender and race on time-domain SAECG. Materials and Methods. There were 116 normal Taiwanese (60 male (TM) and 56 female (TF), 34 17, aged 18 - 81 years old), and
221 normal Caucasians (186 male (CM) and 35 female (CF), 50 6, aged 40 - 67
years old) recruited for this study. Three timedomain SAECG parameters using 40-250 Hz Butterworth filter were evaluated: (1) fQRSD, (2) LAS40 and (3) RMS40.
