Walking a dog can be fine exercise. Two small new studies offer novel ways to promote (促進) dog walking and its various benefits. Anyone who owns a dog, which includes me, knows that most of them yearn to go on walks, whatever the time or weather. If I skip our usual morning jog, my dogs flop onto the floor, feeling down and scolding. The walk would be good for all of us. According to recent studies, adults who often walk a dog are more likely than those who do not to meet the standard (標準的) exercise recommendation (建議) of about 150 minutes a week of moderate (適度的) physical activity. Well-exercised dogs also tend to be leaner and better behaved than those dogs which don’t have enough exercise. “We know from other research that the best benefit of dog walking is feeling a strong bond with your dog,” a professor says. She also says, “There’s something very appealing (吸引人的) about spending time with a dog which is so delighted to see you, and getting in an easy 4,500 steps before 10 a.m.” Many also reported side benefits. “They told us that the dogs had seemed so happy about the walks, which had made them feel

better about themselves and the whole experience,” says a doctor. 55. Which is NOT one of the benefits of walking a dog that is mentioned above?

(A) Dogs will be trained to run faster to chase the bad guys away. (B) Dogs are more likely to behave well and become happier. (C) Dog owners can easily get enough exercise during the walk.
