fter serving as Head of the Division of Social Science (SOSC) for the past five years, I am honored and re-energized by theopportunity to lead the School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS). Since assuming the deanship on July 1, my priority has been to get to know colleagues in the Division of Humanities (HUMA) and the Center for Language Education (CLE), and re-configuring our space to foster school-wide identity and collegiality. The faculty, staff, and students of SHSS bring diverse
strengths to our community. This newsletter provides highlights from the 2017-18 academic year. I look forward to working with you in the forthcoming ones. Stay posted for renovations to our space and more events to bring us together.
