A free public lecture on science will be given by Nobel Laureate Professor Rudolph Marcus on 7 November 1994 (Monday) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Professor Marcus is well known for his work in many fields of theoretical chemical
kinetics, including the theories of electron transfer reactions, unimolecular reactions, electrode reactions, and various transfer reactions. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1992 for his studies of electron transfer reactions that underlie processes such
as photosynthesis and corrosion.
A world-renowned scholar in the field of electron transfer reactions, Professor Marcus of California Institute of Technology has received numerous high academic and professional honours.
The lecture is one of the highlights of the Distinguished Lecture Series in Science sponsored by the School of Science of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The schedule is as follows:
Topic: Theory and Experiment in Science
