 The overall residential property price index decreased by 0.7% over the previous period (December 2020 - February 2021); the indices for the Macao Peninsula and Taipa & Coloane dropped by 0.8% and 0.4% respectively.

 The index for existing residential units went down by 0.6%; the index for those in the Macao Peninsula fell by 0.8% while that for Taipa & Coloane stayed flat over the previous period. Analysed by age of building, the indices for residential units of buildings between 6 and 10 years old and for those of 5 years old or less dropped by 3.1% and 1.4% respectively, whereas the index for those between 11 and 20 years old grew by 0.9%.

Meanwhile, the index for pre-sale residential units rose by 0.6%.

 In comparison with January - March 2020, the overall residential property price index and the index for existing residential units fell by 1.1% and 1.3% respectively, while the index for pre-sale residential units increased by 2.0%.

• Analysed by usable floor area, the indices for residential units with 100 square metres or more and for those with less than 50 square metres decreased by 1.8% and 1.1% respectively, whereas the index for those with a floor area between 75 and 99.9 square metres increased by 0.8%.

• In terms of high- and low-rise buildings, the indices for residential units of buildings with seven storeys or less and for those with more than seven storeys fell by 0.1% and 0.8% respectively.

• The overall residential property price index in the first quarter of 2021 fell by 2.8% compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. The indices for existing and pre-sale residential units decreased by 2.2% and 1.3% respectively.

• The index for existing residential units in the Macao Peninsula slid by 3.2% quarter-to-quarter, with the indices for those in Parish of Santo António and Parish of Sé dropping by 4.9% and 3.5%

respectively.
