The overall residential property price index decreased by 0.5% over the previous period (July - September 2020); the index for the Macao Peninsula fell by 0.7% while that for Taipa & Coloane rose by 0.4%.
The index for existing residential units decreased by 0.8% from the previous period, with the indices for those in the Macao Peninsula and Taipa &
Coloane dropping by 0.8% and 0.7% respectively. Analysed by year of building completion, the indices for residential units completed between 6 and 10 years ago and for those built more than 20 years ago went down by 1.0% and 0.9% respectively, whereas the index for residential units completed in 5 years or less grew by 0.6%. Meanwhile, the index for pre-sale residential units increased by 1.2%.
The indices for residential units with a usable floor area between 50 and 74.9 square metres and for those with an area between 75 and 99.9 square metres decreased by 1.4% and 0.4% respectively, while the index for those with a floor area of 100 square metres and over went up by 3.5%. In terms of high- and low-rise buildings, the index for residential units of buildings with seven storeys or less dropped by 0.9%, whereas the index for those with more than seven storeys rose by 0.3%.
