WP3: In-situ monitoring of the possible occurrence of catastrophic landslide site;
The Pong-Ping-Keng is located several km south from the Hsiaolin landslide site at Chia-Hsien, Kaohsiung. In situ investigations indicated similar geomorphological pattern with the case of the Hsiaolin landslide slope at the toe of the slope, including vertical joints, ground settlements, and water in the creek at the boundary of the landslide.

After the occurrence of Hsiaolin landslide, it is very important to develop new techniques to monitor the rainfall. In addition, it is also important to clarify the impact of the chemical elements and hydraulic conductivity to an unstable slope. Therefore, in this study, we attempted to investigate the rainfall pattern, hydraulic conductivity, and the chemical composition of groundwater.
In the rainfall monitoring technique, the correlation between the radar reflection intensity (dBZ, dB) and the hourly rainfall intensity (I, mm) is written as dBZ=21.7558+15.3790×log(I) with R2=0.539895 using the rainfall data of May to August, 2014.

In addition, the Piper’s Diagram showed that the water in the creek is highly related to the rainfall. Therefore, rainfall may strongly govern the groundwater quality and also level in the slope. More, the in-situ hydraulic conductivity tests indicated the local value is in the range of 10-1~10-3cm/sec.

WP4: Estimation of activity and hazard potential of catastrophic landslides with radar data.
The TCP-InSAR interfermotry from ALOS PALSAR images had been successfully adopted, deformation pattern from TCP-InSAR shows great consistency with field investigations. Country scale landsurface deformation detection is performing under the support of government agency, to allocate the active slopes around mountain areas of Taiwan. Further validation and calibration will be proceeded to ensure the accuracy and reliability of current observation.

臧博士的專業背景為水利工程,他非常熟悉現場調查、物性分析及衛星影像處理,為本計畫推動的關鍵人員之一。此外,他 超過 10 年於成大防災中心擔任主管的經驗,非常有效率的帶動團隊進行研究,無論是成果產出或是進度管控都有很好的品質。
(3)受延攬人之研究或教學或科技研發與管理成果對該計畫(或貴單位)助益如何?

本計畫共有四個子計畫,其中兩個子計畫為深層崩塌現場調查與試驗和深層崩塌地表活動性評估,基於臧博士超過 10 年現場 調查、物性分析及衛星影像處理的經驗,協助解決本計畫執行推動過程中的實務課題,其助益匪淺。
(4)受延攬人於補助期間對貴單位或國內相關學術科技領域助益如何?

經過臧博士的工作參與,於深層崩塌現場調查和試驗上,已經於預期時間內順利完成各項工作,而在活動性評估上,利用國 外 InSar 影像,建置出一套評估流程,為本計畫產出豐碩成果。
