Alice’s teacher, Miss Wong, gives her a letter about the summer holiday.

Read the letter.

23rd June 2XXX

Dear 3B Students,

The summer holiday will begin in July. You have all worked hard this year. I am very proud of your good work.

Enjoy your holiday. Don’t always stay at home. You should sometimes play in the park with friends. Don’t watch too much television. You should also do some work to keep up your English.

Here are two ways to help you:

1. Writing Diaries – Write a diary every day. You can write about what you did that day. I will ask you to share your diaries with your classmates when you come back in September.

2. Visiting Websites – There are many websites with interesting English games. Ask your parents to help you find some English games at www.englishfunfun.com or www.gamesenglish.net.

Don’t forget to read more English books. Reading is fun! I hope all of you will have a wonderful summer!

Best wishes, Miss Wong

Alice is writing about her day.

Read her diary.

Wednesday 24th June cloudy

What an exciting day! Today was the school singing competition. I joined the competition because my friend, Jane, said I had a great voice. She said I could sing well. I was afraid when I stood in front of my classmates and teachers in the hall. My heart was beating very fast. But when I started singing, I really had fun. I won the competition. I was the champion! I got a trophy. But I was a little sad because Jane didn’t see me sing. She went home because she was sick.

Mum smiled when I showed her the trophy. She said, “Well done, Alice! Let’s have a party.” I will ask Jane and Mary to come to the party. They are my good friends and we always share our happy and sad times together. I hope Jane gets better so she can join us.
