Learning Terms for Occupational Therapy 2 Credits

Course Description
This course provides a lecture based introduction on the use of professional terms and related issues in the field of rehabilitation. The course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of the usage of professional language, via movies, journal articles, and professional dictionaries. This course has been planned to assist in the development of knowledge of fundamental vocabulary in occupational therapy.
Course Objectives
After the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Identify the fundamental vocabulary in the field of rehabilitation.
2. Understand the meanings of the professional terms.
3. Familiarize with the use of the professional terms in the field of rehabilitation.
4. Learn to apply the medical terminology in practice.
5. Learn to explain the medical terms to the client and avoid the jargons.
