An elementary school principal’s life story

Abstract
This following-up study is a part of the serial research on principal’s leadership and school organization culture. In addition to principal’s life history and the
literature review of relationship between principal’s leadership and school
organization culture, the researcher conducts the study mainly by interview, along with observation and documentary analysis. This study explores the personal growth and educational background of principals, as well as the effects of social cultural context on the shaping of school organization culture and leading strategies. This study also analyzes the principal’s trait and personality, educational visions, concepts of school management and leading strategies of shaping school organization culture, The mind story principal encounters while managing schools and the process of solving problems are also discussed.

方 法 的 觀 點，本 研 究 為 什 麼 選 擇 阿 陸 校 長 並 運 用 質 性 研 究 方 法 進 行 本 研 究 已 可 見 其 端 倪。事 實 上，選 擇 阿 陸 校 長 作 為 本 研 究 的 研 究 個 案 ， 符 應 質 性 研 究 中 以 立 意 (判 斷 )抽 樣 (purposeful, judgment sampling)的 原 則 。 誠 如 Patton(2002, p. 46)所 指 出 ， 立 意 抽 樣 旨 在 於 尋 找 能 提 供 豐 富 資 訊 的 個 案，俾 作 深 入 的 研 究。筆 者 認 為 選 擇 阿 陸 校 長 可 獲 得 最 多 且 豐 富 的 資 料 並 達 成 研 究 目 的。因 此，選 擇 阿 陸 校 長 是 兼 融 研 究 的 學 理 與 經 驗 基 礎 的 。
二 、 研 究 目 的
校 長 生 命 史 的 研 究 也 重 視 研 究 對 象 的「 發 聲 」，冀 能 獲 得 第 一 手 的 「 原 聲 」 資 料 ， 俾 便 分 析 與 詮 釋 。 例 如 ， Oplatka (2001, pp. 46-57) 的 研 究 主 要 係 以 訪 談 的 方 法 ， 經 由 校 長 對 其 生 命 故 事 的 回 顧 與 省 思 (retrospective and reflective voice)。 且 張 慶 勳 (2005， 頁 45)綜 合 文 獻 後 也 指 出，大 多 數 的 校 長 生 命 故 事 的 敘 說 分 析 主 要 係 採 用 訪 談 為 研 究 方 法 ， 重 視 研 究 對 象 的 「 發 聲 」 。五 、 研 究 工 具
茲 說 明 研 究 者 本 身 即 是 研 究 工 具、研 究 過 程 的 編 碼 與 分 析，以 及 研 究 所 使 用 的 設 備 如 下 。
