ABSTRACT
Not only does the Location of transit system routes influences performance of mobility, but it changes patterns of urban environment. The planner must synthesize the different environmental consideration when he chooses transit system routes.
The approach presented in this paper is different from the traditional Transit Planning process, which applies the techniques of geographic information system and environ- mental suitability analysis to the route choices. For each grid cell of 100 x 100 meter, data on urban environmental characteristics were coded for the subsequent analysis of environmental suitability assessment.
