Melody in Mind Comprehended:Analysis of the Art Works by Wu Ju-Fen : 吳如芬繪畫創作 論述

ABSTRACT
This study is a depiction of the researcher’s 2008-2011 artistic production with a variety of drawing materials. All artworks were inspired from spiritual thinking in the depths of the heart. Capturing personal experiences and the people around in the creations, the researcher tried to understand the real significance of painting.In the creative process, the researcher frequently did critical thinking by exploring the deepest corners of the heart and embodied the reflections by employing different drawing materials. In terms of these reflections and experiments with materials, the researcher endeavored to reveal how the researcher changed with personal growth and unceasing technological advance. Just as a blue bird glides across the surface of a pond and send ripples throughout, a dim awareness was awakened and the mounting excitement, in turn, evolved into the impulse of painting.Hopefully, the serial paintings as a result of the creative impulse can evoke the viewers’ emotional resonance.The expressive planes of the researcher’s paintings were aimed to manifest the nature and magnificence of life. The paintings tried to go beyond surface appearance and penetrate deeper essential truths to intensify their splendid representation. That way, the creator as well as viewers could have the same feeling about the paintings and also nourish multi-faceted thinking and sensitivity about art.Spontaneously from these new possibilities spring beauty, truth, and goodness—the greatest momentum of the researcher’s creation.
