番石榴(Psidium guajava Linn. )為桃金孃科(Myrtacese )植物,臺灣民間常用 於收斂止血,以及腸炎和糖尿病的治療等等。

在科學界,近來有許多關於酚性成份之生理活性被發現,有鑑於此,所以嘗試研究番 石榴葉中酚性化合物及其成份,以及提供進一步生物活性探討。本研究就新鮮的番石 榴葉中,經由各種管柱層析,純化出十五種化合物,其結構分別確認為Gallic acid

(Ⅰ),Methyl gallate(Ⅱ),1-O-Galloylglucose(Ⅲ),1 ,2 ,3 ,4 ,6- O-Penta-galloyl-β-D-glucose(Ⅳ),Pedunculagin(Ⅴ),Iso-strictinin(Ⅵ

),Eugeniin(Ⅶ),Casuarinin(Ⅷ),Castalagin(Ⅸ),Catechin(Ⅹ),

Epicatechin (ⅩⅠ),Gallocatechin (ⅩⅡ),Procyanidin B-1 (ⅩⅢ),

Procyanidin B-3 (ⅩⅣ),Quercetin (ⅩⅤ)。
