Progress report from July 2016 to August 2016
As a post-doctoral fellow, my responsibilities include preparation of scientific journal articles for submission to peer reviewed journals. The manuscripts that were prepared and revised are listed below. Also, I revised and corrected the Masters thesis of the students who graduated from our group this year. Other than these, I attend research group meetings with the professor and other colleagues to gain more information and knowledge, and the kind of work that our group is involved in and provide suggestions and comments when necessary.

(1)是否達到延攬預期目標？
Has the expected goal of recruitment been achieved?
Yes. The candidate has proven her proficiency by preparing many manuscripts for publication. She also help with mentoring the students who are working with this project.
(2)研究或教學或科技研發與管理的方法、專業知識及進度如何？
What are the methods, professional knowledge, and progress of the research, teaching, or R&D and management work?
The candidate is very good in technical writing and also has experience in molecular biology techniques which I believe would help with the current project we have undertaken. She has shown her ability in this by preparing 5 manuscripts in 2 months.
(3)受延攬人之研究或教學或科技研發與管理成果對該計畫(或貴單位)助益如何？
How have the research, teaching, or R&D and management results of the employed person given benefit to the project (or your unit)?
The candidate has vast experience in Molecular biology and Cloning techniques. The project undertaken currently involves Metabolic engineering of microalgae to increase their CO2 fixation efficiency, and enabling them to produce increased amounts of pigments. In this context, the candidate is already undergoing training in microalgal cultural techniques and in a short while she can start experiments with increasing CO2 fixation efficiency of microalgae.
(4)受延攬人於補助期間對貴單位或國內相關學術科技領域助益如何？
How has the employed person, during his or her term of employment, benefited your unit or the relevant domestic academic field?
The candidate has undergone her entire educational stream in English in a reputed Technical Institute in India, IIT Madras. Her communication skills and technical writing techniques in English language is good. This particular skill set is very valuable to out unit, as the candidate is involved in preparation of manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. In addition, based on her molecular biological skills, she will be involved in establishing tools for the transformation and cloning of the highly potential microalgal strains, which would be a great contribution in terms of academia and commercial applications.

Please describe the specific work performance, or the results of research, teaching, or R&D and management work:
As stated earlier in the progress report, the candidate has prepared around five articles for publication in peer reviewed journals. One of them is currently under review and one article is published. The candidate also attends the research group meetings and provide valuable suggestions and inputs for the graduate students at work.
