Advanced Statistics in Social Research Department of Sociology(研一)

Fu-Jen University Spring, 2009

Course Description:

This is a course in multivariate statistical techniques. The central issue is how to use quantitative information to obtain answers to theoretically derived questions. So, we will consider certain types of theoretical statements and learn how to use international social data to get good estimates of theoretically important parameters.

Required Texts:

David Knoke, George W. Bohrnstedt and Alisa Potter Mee, Statistics for Social Data Analysis. 4E, 2002.

Ivy Lee and Minako Maykovich, Statistics: A Tool for Understanding Society. 1995
