Release of Placement Results for

Secondary Four Placement (SFP) Mechanism 2022 Frequently Asked Questions

(1) Q When will the placement results be released?

A The placement results will be released on 13 July 2022 (Wednesday).

(2) Q If students/parents/guardians cannot complete the registration procedures for their child within the registration period, what should they do?

A (a) If students/parents/guardians know in advance that they will not be able to complete the registration procedures on the date and time specified, they should obtain from the head of student’s own school a written authorisation for a representative to act on their behalf.

The authorised representative should complete the registration procedures on the date and time specified. Otherwise, the S4 places arranged will no longer be reserved.

(b) If students/parents/guardians have genuine difficulties in reporting to the school placed in person or by a representative during the registration period, they should inform the school placed before the end of the registration period so that alternative arrangements for registration can be made. Otherwise, the S4 places arranged will no longer be reserved.

(c) Due to the epidemic situation of COVID-19, should students and parents have genuine difficulties (e.g. undergoing local compulsory quarantine or other relevant arrangements) in collecting the S4 Registration Forms and registering with the school placed in person, and parents are unable to authorise a representative for handling the above matters, original schools of the students will notify parents of the central placement results by phone or other electronic means on the day of placement results release. EDB will send the lists of the students concerned and their Registration Forms to the schools placed on 14 July 2022 for registration. The students and parents concerned are reminded to provide other necessary documents to the school placed for registration later.

(3) Q If students lose their Registration Forms before the registration period, what should they do?

A Students who lose their Registration Forms before the registration period should apply for replacement as soon as possible. Students or their representatives should bring along the original of the students’ identity documents and documents of the attending secondary schools (e.g. school reports) and apply to the School Places Allocation (SPA) Section of the Education Bureau (EDB) during office hours (Address: Office 2, 2/F, Manulife Financial Centre, 223 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon).

An official signature fee of $125 will be charged for re-issue of registration form. If students lose their Registration Forms within the registration period, they should contact the SPA Section of the EDB at 2832 7770 as soon as possible.

(4) Q If parents wish to transfer their children to another school after the release of placement results, what should they do?

A Parents may, for various reasons, wish to seek transfer for their children.

However, before their children are accepted by another school, parents should still register with the school placed during the registration period.

Failure to do so will mean that they have chosen to give up the places arranged.

(5) Q If S3 students are interested in the full-time Post-Secondary 3 (PS3) craft courses, what should they do?

A The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the Construction Industry Council (CIC) will recruit students on their own. S3 students who wish to apply for PS3 craft courses should note the courses offered and the application procedures, and apply to the training bodies direct according to their interests and preferences. For details of the Vaccine Pass, please refer to COVID-19 Thematic Website.
