Teaching Objectives
This course is designed to help you
1. Weave the vocabulary, phrases, sentence patters you have learned in the past and in this class into conversation
2. Talk over abstract, conceptual, or technical topics briefly 3. Express your critical thinking logically and fluently.
4. Fulfill language tasks individually or as a team efficiently.

Course Description
Discussion strategies and presentation skills about various topics will be acquired in this course.

Assignments, Examinations and Grading
Homework will be assigned for each class. For some of the classes there will be a fifteen to twenty-minute written/reading/listening/speaking quiz on the assignments or discussion from the previous week. There will also be mid-term and final examinations.
It is very important to come to class on time each time. If you are not able to come, please e-mail or phone the instructor ahead of time ([email protected]). Two unexcused absences, or being 10-minute
late for 6 times and above will automatically put the student in a failingposition and make it very difficult for the student to pass the course.
Intellectual Property shall be respected. Plagiarism is strictly
forbidden. Students who plagiarize in any form and on any level willautomatically fail the course.
The final grade will be determined in this way: attendance: 20%;
homework and in-class participation 20%; practice 20%; midterm 20%;
final examinations 20%.
