Female body length 1.1-1.4 mm on slide. Body yellow with ovipositor yellowish brown; legs light yellow; antennae light yellow, except distal half of segment VI brown, segments VII and VIII grayish brown; forewing whitish yellow with basal and median grayish brown areas.
Head wider than long, an evident transverse line on occiput. One pair of anteocellar setae near anterior side of compound eyes, one pair of interocellar setae, situated in front of posterior ocelli. Maxillary palpi 3-segmented. Antennae 8-segmented, segments III and IV with single sense cone, 2 sense cones on V about same length.
Posteroangulars each with 2 long setae, inner pair longer; 4 pairs of median posteromarginal setae. Meso- and metafurca without spinula. Forewing with 21-22 costal setae; upper vein with 9-10 setae, lower vein with 4 setae, arranged irregularly. Tarsi 2-segmented.
Abdominal tergites without posterior flange; laterals of tergite VIII with stippled areas, without posterior comb; tergite IX with 3 pairs of major setae; tergite X not split. Sternites III-VII each with 3 pairs of marginal setae, without discal setae.
Male unknown.
Distribution: Taiwan.
Habitat: Rhododendron sp., Mirabilis sp., Camelia sinensis, Acacia confuse, Podocarpus macrophyllus, Michelia fuscata, Calocedrus formosana.

Dichromothrips Priesner, 1932b: 110. Type species: Dichromothrips orchidis Priesner, 1932.
Antennae 8-segmented; segments III and IV longer, vasiform, forked sense cone slender;
distal end of V and base of VI about same width. Discal setae of pronotum short, posteromargin with 5 pairs of setae. Vein setae on forewing well-developed. Posterior comb on abdominal tergite VIII complete. Tergite X not split. Sternites without discal setae, Male abdominal sternites III-VII with paired glandular areas. Tergite IX without stout setae.
Over 18 species in this genus of the world. Species of this genus are often pests of orchids.
The two species of Taiwan can be separated by the posteromarginal setae on pronotum.
