Experts on Global Warming Meet

in Hong Kong

The 9th Global Warming International Conference & Expo, co-hosted by GWIC (Global Warming International Center, USA) and HKUST, will be held at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology from 9 to 11 June 1998.

This is the first time this policy and science-oriented international conference on the broad subject of global warming and its mitigation will convene in Asia.

The conference will be opened on 9 June 1998 by Prof Chia-Wei Woo, President of HKUST. Keynote presentations will be made on "Global Warming Science & Policy: Progress 1997-1998" by Prof Sinyan Shen, Chairman of GWIC, and "Hong Kong: An

Environmental Overview" by Mr Robert J. S. Law, Director of Environmental Protection, Hong Kong SAR.

More than 200 delegates from 26 countries in Asia, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa will address issues relating to global and regional resource conservation and resource management methods, including agricultural, forestry, mineral, transportation, energy and water resources.
