May 2015
Visitors from Mainland China edged down by 0.5% year-on-year, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme rising by 3.5%. Visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan increased by 5.1% and 0.6%. Long-haul visitors from the United States registered year-on-year increase, while those from Australia saw decline.
Visitor arrivals increased by 0.9% year-on-year, with same-day visitors rising by 2.6%. The average length of stay of visitors increased by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.1 days; overnight and same-day visitors had an average stay of 2.2 days and 0.2 day respectively. Total visitor arrivals in the first five months of 2015 decreased by 2.7% year-on- year.
Visitor arrivals by land dropped by 2.4% year-on-year, while those arriving by sea and by air rose by 5.8% and 1.4% respectively.
