Visitors from the United Kingdom had relatively high per-capita spending (MOP1,563) among the long-haul visitors, up significantly by 38% year-on-year, followed by that of visitors from Australia (MOP1,498), up by 21%. Long-haul visitors spent primarily on Accommodation and Food & Beverage.
Total spending (excluding gaming expenses) of visitors amounted to MOP15.5 billion, up by 5% year-on-year. Spending of overnight visitors totalled MOP12.9 billion and that of same-day visitors was MOP2.6 billion, up by 5% and 3% respectively.
Per-capita spending of visitors was MOP1,878, down slightly by 1% year-on-year. Per-capita spending of overnight visitors increased by 4% to MOP3,310, while that of same-day visitors decreased by 8%, at MOP599.
Visitors spent mainly on Shopping (49%), Accommodation (26%) and Food & Beverage (18%).

Per-capita spending of Mainland visitors was MOP2,220, down by 4%
year-on-year. Shopping spending accounted for 57% of the total, which was spent mainly on Jewellery & Watches, Handbags & Shoes and Local Food Products. Spending of those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) increased by 7% to MOP2,758, with 63% being spent on shopping.
Per-capita spending of overnight and same-day Mainland visitors topped at MOP3,933 and MOP707 respectively. Shopping spending of overnight visitors accounted for 52% and that of same-day visitors reached 80%.
Per-capita spending of visitors from Japan increased by 12% year- on-year, at MOP1,954, with shopping spending surging by 149% to MOP258. Per-capita spending of visitors from Singapore (MOP1,927), Malaysia (MOP1,798) and Taiwan (MOP1,653) rose by 1%, 8% and 4% respectively year-on-year.

Visitors' Comments on Points of Tourist Attractions
Shopping Fair
Main Purpose of Visit
Only 47% of the visitors commented that there were sufficient points of tourist attractions, and 17% considered that public transport services should be improved.
About 57% of the visitors came to Macao mainly for vacation, and 24% for transit.
Analysed by place of residence, 24% of the visitors from Hong Kong came to Macao mainly for gaming activities, higher than that of other countries and regions.
Most of the visitors from Taiwan (51%) were transit visitors, while visitors from Japan came mainly for vacation (83%).
About 86% of the visitor-users were satisfied with the services and facilities of hotels, and 84% complimented about the services of travel agencies.
