Mainland visitors surged by 24% year-on-year to 1,769,408, with 738,287 (42% of total) travelling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme. Visitors from Hong Kong decreased by 15% year-on-year; while long-haul visitors from the United Kingdom registered an increase of 17%.

Visitor arrivals totalled 2,625,997, up by 10% year-on-year; same-day visitors accounted for 53% of the total. In the first quarter of 2014, visitor arrivals reached 7,690,166, an increase of 9% year-on-year.
