Course Objectives (課程目標)

This course is focused on providing the students with intensive exposure to the English language through the practice of listening and speaking activities. Based on English learning theories, each lesson consists of a variety of student-centered and interactive activities which give students the focus and support they need to succeed with their language skills: to better students’ listening ability, there is listening practice on ICRT news, text, films, and TOEFL;

to improve students’ fluency in spoken English, there are daily topics for pair chatting in English; to build the habit of self-learning, students are asked to read novels and listen to the recording of TV series regularly, which account for part of regular test material.

本課程提供學生密集的英語聽講訓練。每一單元設計多項以學生為中心之互動式活動:

為增進聽力,課程大量練習ICRT 廣播新聞、聽力課本、影片及托福聽力訓練;為增進英

語流利度,每週安排純英語話題暢談活動;為培養規律學習,學生需於課餘閱讀英語 小說,並準備每週的影片及新聞複習測驗。

第一部分:小說作業程序

(1) 挑選小說: 請至本課程iCan 網站瀏覽上學期學長姊較推薦的小說檔案 (閱讀小說心得分享內容),選出自己較有興趣的小說(例,偵探、愛情、科幻 等),並儘速購買以備下週上課使用。

(註 1) 本班購買小說有折價,同學只要在櫃檯結帳時告知是「陳麗卿老師的 學生」即可享八折優惠。

(註 2) 若該書已售完,請務必立即”預約”並要求在 4~5 日內取書,

(2) 閱讀小說並寫大意:請在小說的每一面空白處以一句中文(約 10~15 個字) 描寫該頁面所陳述劇情之大意。

(3) 填寫心得分享:小說讀完後,請至iCan 網站 download 「小說心得分享表 格」,填寫之後對折夾入小說。

(4) 繳交小說:於下課休息時間將小說(連同心得表格)置於講台旁註明 「繳交小 說」的盒子。記得小說封面內頁需註明班級、姓名,以利發回。

(5) 領回小說:隔週請自行於講台旁註明「發還小說」的盒子中領回個人的小說 作業。發還的小說封面內頁均有蓋章,不可再當成作業繳交。

第二部分:小說級數、繳交日期、記分及寫大意注意事項 (1) 第 1~3 本

級數&日期: 第一本(level 3) 10/3 (第四週) 第二本(level 4) 10/24 (第七週)

第三本(level 5) 11/14 (第十週) 得分: 提前繳交:總分6.5 分

當週:總分6 分

過後補交: 12/26 以前:總分 5 分 12/26 以後:總分 2.5 分 (2) 加分本(第 4~5 本) (應讀 level 4 or above)

得分: 12/26 以前:每本額外加總分 3 分 12/26 以後:每本額外加總分 2.5 分

第三部分:獎勵辦法

為鼓勵同學廣泛閱讀,凡在十二月最後一週完成六本(含)以上的同學,除有優 異的學期成績外,將可獲得老師準備的小禮物。(依此計算,每兩週需看完一本)
