PACKAGE TOURS AND HOTEL OCCUPANCY RATE

Visitor arrivals in package tour increased by 15% year-on-year to 908,000 and the majority (80%) came from Mainland China; visitors from Japan surged by 81%. In the first half year, visitor arrivals in package tour reached 5,363,000, up by 16% year-on-year.
A total of 863,000 guests checked into hotels and guesthouses, down by 4% year-on-year, with 59% staying in 5-star hotels. In the first half year, hotel guests totalled 5,301,000, up by 1% year-on-year; the average occupancy rate stood at 86%, an increase of 6 percentage points.
Current Month
Outbound residents using services of travel agencies increased by 3% year-on-year to 124,000 and 46% travelled in package tour. In the first half year, outbound residents totalled 707,000, up by 1% year-on-year.
