PACKAGE TOURS AND HOTEL OCCUPANCY RATE
Visitors on package tours totalled 532,000, down by 6.7% year-on-year, with those coming from Mainland China dropping by 9.0% to 402,000.
Outbound residents using services of travel agencies increased by 14.8% year-on-year to 117,000; those travelling on package tours totalled 50,000, up by 25.6% year-on-year.
There were 107 hotels & guesthouses operating at the end of January 2017, an increase of 1 year-on-year. Number of guest rooms totalled 36,000, of which 5-star hotels accounted for 60.1%.
A total of 1,041,000 guests checked into hotels & guesthouses, up by 15.6% year-on-year; the average occupancy rate stood at 81.6%, up by 4.4 percentage points.
