Abstract

Gift is an important way to improve the collection because it can save the budg- et and collect valuable but unsaleable titles. Since most libraries cannot predict the scope and the quality of their gift books, it is necessary to have the policy to select the gift books and avoid the waste of librarians' time in processing useless gifts. By content analysis of websites in Taiwan universities and public libraries, this article proposes some suggestions for the libraries to develop their gift collection policy.
