The index of Industrial Production for the first quarter of 2019 decreased by 24.6% quarter-to-quarter to 76.4, attributable to a 70.1% decline in the production index of Electricity.



Production index of Electricity, Gas & Water Supply (31.3) dropped by 59.5% quarter-to-quarter owing to a decrease in volumes of electricity generation and water treatment.



Production index of the Manufacturing Sector (141.4) increased by 4.0% over the previous quarter, with the indices of Manufacture of Food

Products & Beverages and Manufacturing not elsewhere classified rising by 4.6% and 27.9% respectively; meanwhile, the indices of

Manufacture of Wearing Apparel and Manufacture of Textiles dropped by 50.0% and 40.0% respectively.
