Course Objective:

This course presents an introduction to computer networks. It starts by giving an overview of the various types and capabilities of today’s networks, then defines and explains the OSI seven-layer protocol architecture, as well as the functionalities that should be provided in each layer. Ethernet and TCP/IP networks will be used as operating examples for most of the time as they are the dominating technologies today.
