教學目標:

GOALS

本課程主要目的建立學生對當前圖書館發展及服務的廣泛了解,透過本課程學 生可以學得:

1. 了解圖書資訊學的核心責任與價值 2. 熟悉各類型圖書館及其特色 3. 了解現代圖書館的發展歷史與趨勢

4. 了解現代圖書館和圖書資訊服的議題及問題。

5. 學習面對現代圖書館和圖書資訊服務的議題及應對之技能。

To introduce students to the underlying nature and role of libraries in contemporary society;

Students will learn about the issues and problems facing the development of libraries and will become acquainted with the successes and/or failures of various approaches to these issues.

Understand the core responsibilities and values of librarianship

Be familiar with the various types and characteristics of library environments

Think critically about current issues and problems pertaining to all types of libraries

Demonstrate the necessary skills to work effectively both as an individual and as part of a group

課程範圍:

1. History and development of libraries and other information-based organizations

2. The variety and nature of different library environments and criteria that distinguish them 3. The major structural components of libraries

4. Ethical issues in librarianship 5. Librarians as professionals

6. Current issues and problems facing libraries, librarians, and other information transfer professionals.
