- The general unemployment rate was 2.8% and the unemployment rate of local residents was 4.0%, up by 0.1 and 0.2 percentage points respectively from the previous period (May-July 2020). The underemployment rate grew by 0.4 percentage points to 3.7%.
- The general labour force participation rate was 70.2% and the labour force participation rate of local residents was 63.1%, down by 0.3 and 0.2 percentage points respectively over the previous period.

- Total employment was 392,500 and the number of employed residents totalled 276,600, down by 2,900 and 1,100 respectively from the previous period.
- Number of the unemployed was 11,500, up by 400 from the previous period. With fresh graduates entering the labour market, the proportion of new labour market entrants seeking their first job increased by 6.8 percentage points to 16.0% of the total unemployed.
