第二節 檢討與建議
本文在研究過程中主要的限制在於樣本數不足的問題，由於本研究採取的是 定群追蹤的研究資料，其最大的缺點則是樣本流失率高，每一波皆成功受訪的樣 本數相對較少，因此當研究上使用的變數所區分的類別較多時，很容易就發生細 格內樣本數不足的問題，因而導致統計推論上的困難，例如本文中的父母政黨認 同組合就有細格內樣本數為 0 的情況。然而定群追蹤研究的優點在於能確知同一 樣本在不同時間點上的態度變化，若日後的研究能擴大定群追蹤研究的受訪者樣 本數，相信能對政黨認同的深入瞭解有所助益。
由於缺乏雙親與子女各別的訪問資料，本研究所採用的父親與母親之政黨認 同是以大學生自填問卷時回答者為依據，無可避免地，大學生所認知的父母政黨 認同或多或少與父母親本身真實的政黨認同有所出入，大學生可能會將自己的偏 好誤植到父母身上。然而 Niemi(1974, 59-63)認為由子女所報告的雙親政黨認同 儘管有所差異，但大多仍是可信的，在 1965 年的親子訪問中能正確回答父母所 認同的政黨的子女約有 71%，而答錯父母政黨認同的子女大多回答了自己的政黨 認同。因此，若日後的研究能分別訪問雙親和子女，即可有效消弭這樣的誤差。
