有關圖式，理解其體現的陰陽變化之宇宙觀的重要意涵；分析六十四卦象義之圖式 內涵，詮解卦爻之象，以及圖式符號立象所闡明的卦爻辭義具體內容，確立圖式建 構者的卦爻理解；探討《易傳》詮義圖式結構之重要意義；最後總結輯著之整體特 色與主要取向。藉由諸論題之探析，期能彌補前人研究成果之不足，擴展易學圖式 結構之解析與哲理性論述之能量。
為學求道，雖無沒於百仞之淵、流於無涯之川的悲壯，但確是時日專屬不分，

Preface
In different phrases of life, caught in unexpected predicaments, I felt like a drifter roaming from one place to another until I took a plunge into the world of literature and philosophy. I believed that by exploring our traditional cultural heritage, I could understand the truth of life, and thus my life would settle down. Fortunately, time has proved me right. Working tirelessly in the past twenty years, immersed in the study of Laozi, Zhuangzi, and Yi, I have had the privilege to take glimpses into the truth of life. I’ve been toiling away particularly in the study of Yi, in the hope of gaining insight and making contributions in this field. While my last book explores the Yi-diagrams in Ding Yidong’s theory, this book focuses on the Yi-diagrams in
Dayi-xiangshu-goushentu and Zhouyi-tu.
Approaching Yixue through structures of different Yi-diagrams reflects a new interpretation and understanding of Yixue, especially in the realm of cosmology. This unique perspective to approach Yi has been the center of my studies for years and it will continue to be so.
Newly-developed Tu-Shu Yixue reached its maturity in Northern Song Dynasty and was extended and continued to grow into Southern Song. In the era when Xiang-Shu and Yili prevailed and competed with each other, no matter which of the two gained predominance, Tu-Shu Yixue made its way to assimilate into both of them.
It was not only a novel method for the interpretation of Yixue, but also started a crucial trend in its development. It inspired new discourse system and established alternative philosophy of cosmology. Scholars constructed one diagram after another that represented their Yi theories and their views on cosmology. What they tried to convey through these mechanical diagrams was a rich and diverse lineage of thoughts.
What’s more, with these diagrams, these scholars set up a more meaningful and organic comprehension of the world from a philosophical perspective. Whether in terms of further exploration of its contents or the analysis of Yixue from a historical perspective, Tu-Shu Yixu is of profound meaning and worth delving into.
The majority of the Yi-diagrams depicted in Dayi-xiangshu-goushentu and
Zhouyi-tu are quite similar, both in their presentation and the ideas they reflect. In
view of this, it is safe to conclude that they belong in the same series of diagrams with the same properties. The diverse and complex content of these diagrams is an6 自 序
innovative breakthrough in the understanding of Yixue, which highlights the unique characteristics of the era, opens a new chapter for traditional Yixue, and leaves a representative literary legacy. Faced with the inevitable damage done to the literature with the passing of time, Dayi-xiangshu-goushentu and Zhouyi-tu represent the application of Yixue features and serve as important references. Although the two books are collected in Dao-Zang and incorporated ideas from Daoism, they reflect the core ideas of Yixue theories in Song Dynasty and are highly representative of that particular era.
With the main focus on the series of Yi-diagrams in Dayi-xiangshu-goushentu and Zhouyi-tu, the present study aims to perform a topical analysis of the relevant diagrams, trace their origins, clarify the concrete meanings of related diagrams and propose possible philosophical implications. The main issues addressed in the study include the following: the possible time when the two books were compiled; the change of ying and yang and the important meanings in cosmology manifested in the diagrams concerning the evolution and derivations of Taiji, the sequence of numbers in Hetu and Luoshu, and Xian-Hou-Tian; the analysis of the meanings of 64 Gua in the aspects of Xiang-Shu and Yili, the interpretation of Gua-yao and its content and the explanation of Gua-yao constructers’ theories; the exploration of the diagram structures in Yizhuan; and the summary of the overall characteristics of the two books.
Through a comprehensive analysis of the above-mentioned topics, the study hopes to make up for what lacked in previous studies, expand the explanation and analysis of diagram structures of Yixue, and boost the momentum of philosophical discourse.
