然而，Friedman (1970) 卻表態反對，認為企業唯一的社會責任應該是為股東創造 利潤，若企業動用股東的資源而從事與賺取利潤無關的項目，那便是不合法的。
綜上所述，對於企業追求永續發展進行企業社會責任活動的論述，一直都是學術界 一項備受關注的議題，且近年較多的實證研究傾向於支持，然而永續發展包含了眾多項 目，卻較無人探討執行廣度與財務績效的關聯。因此本研究也將對企業策略性發展的 SDG 項目廣度與財務績效進行關聯性探討。
第三節 評比機制
企業進行不同的永續相關活動，並非任何項目皆能受到社會認可，另外由於效用不 明確，因此可能缺乏一定的動機從事永續活動。目前國際社會存在了多項評分企業永續 發展情形的組織、委員會，透過設定一定的標準以及提供一定的認證，讓企業不僅有方 向發展，也會有一定的明確動機從事永續活動。
根據 MoneyDJ (2019) 新聞描述目前國際最受認可的就是道瓊永續指數 (Dow Jones Sustainability Index, DJSI)，該指數創立於 1999 年，是由美國道瓊公司 (Dow Jones Index) 與瑞士蘇黎世永續資產管理公司 (Sustainable Asset Management, SAM) 共同成 立。每年，DJSI 會從工業指數股票市場中挑選全球資本前 2500 家大企業參與，並以經 濟、環境、社會三面項比較，透過問卷調查表、企業文件審核 (包含 CSR 報告書、公司 年報、環境報告書…等)、媒體調查、利害關係人調查，甚至直接聯繫公司澄清解釋，並

顯強眼，從 2001 年僅台積電 (TSMC) 參與獲選，至 2019 已有 23 家台灣企業入榜(倪 上筑、李莉儂，2019)。
另外，台灣本國也發展了相關的指數，最具盛名的就是「天下企業公民Top 100」，
該排名參考了多項國際指標以及公司治理、企業承諾、社會參與以及環境保護四個面向，
經專業評委檢視後選出100 監表現最優良之上市櫃企業，另外更與元大寶來投信合作設 立「天下CSR 企業指數」，從企業公民獎中選出排名前 25 之企業，根據排名由高至低 給予權重並編製。
綜合回顧以上文獻，目前針對企業永續相關活動表現的評分有不少的組織從各面向 探討，但尚未有機制以國際共同認定的永續發展指數作為標的作評判、或有文獻探討企 業進行永續發展活動是否跟隨永續發展指數目標。另外，關於企業社會責任與財務績效 的關聯以存有多項正相關的文獻，但目前尚無人就永續發展目標探討與財務績效的關聯 性。本研究即欲針對此二議題作探討。

在前幾章節陸續介紹本研究的動機與目標，以及探討過去相關文獻後，得出了本研 究愈探討的議題，為企業履行SDGs 的情形、其與財務績效的關聯姓。本章節欲先闡述 研究的方法、樣本選取、資料來源以及變數定義。
第一節 研究方法介紹
一、 文獻分析法 (Archival Research)
文獻分析法係指對現存文獻 (Existing documents) 之資料做觀察，進行研究、蒐集、
分析與解釋，尋找與主題相關的部分，並建立研究與主題的關聯性之過程 (Dane, 1990) 。
本研究為了探究企業進行永續相關活動的情形，選擇應用此研究方法，針對 2018 年度道瓊永續新興市場亞洲 63 家公司的企業責任報告書(CSR Report)、企業可持續發 展報告書(Sustainability Report)、企業年度報告書(Annual Report)進行資料蒐集並歸納成 與本研究相關的訊息。
本研究將依循聯合國所發布的 SDGs 17 項目標分類企業所進行的活動類別，接著 再以各項目中的子項目做為主要評分標準，來了解企業執行SDGs 的涵蓋程度。評分模 型如下：

為第N 項 SDG 中的子項目數量本研究提出此分數的目的在於探討企業在從事永續發展相關活動時，符合各 SDG 項目程度。例如：在「消除各地一切形式的貧窮」中涵蓋了7 個子目標，若企業符合其 中的5 項，則給予分數四捨五入為 7.1。如此便能將從事 SDGs 的程度量化，以利後續 分析。
二、 敘述性統計 (Descriptive Statistics)
統計在資料的測量上可以分為質的 (qualitative) 及量的 (quantitative) 資料二種，
然而，數據在未經整理的狀況之下，難以形成真正有意義的資訊，因此為使資料具有真 正的意義，就須將這些資料加以整理。敘述統計就是利用統計的程序，將資料進行排序、
計算以及畫記，以獲得一個統計量數，利用此統計量數對一組觀察值在某變項上的性質 進行解釋、摘要以及描述的一個統計程序。(王保進，2000)。
本研究在蒐集相關報告書已取的訊息、得出各公司在 SDGs 的 Grade of Goal 後，
將透過敘述性統計分析，描述文獻分析後的資料形貌，來達成本研究的目的之一–了解 企業進行SDGs 的情形。接著再進一步根據這些分析，探討原因，以及提供管理上的建 議。
三、 迴歸分析 (Regression Analysis)

迴歸分析是一種統計學上分析數據的方法，其目的在了解兩個或以上變數間，是 否存在相關性、相關方向與強度，並建立數學模型觀察特定變數來預測操作者所感興趣 的變數。
本研究目的之一在於探討SDGs 與企業財務績效間的關係，本研究擬以 ROA 作為 企業經營績效的指標，探討其與各Grade of Goal 之間的關係。迴歸模型如下：

三、 控制變數 (Control Variable)
本研究中的樣本公司控制變數為企業總收益與產業別。
1. 總收益 (Total Revenue)
由於每一間公司的規模大小可能過於懸殊，在此本研究將採用總收益作為控制變數。
而由於本研究所蒐集之企業報告數為 2018 年份發布，相較於 2018，本研究認為 2017 財務數據更能顯示2017 年前的 CSR 活動的影響，因此在蒐集上將採用 2017 年的總收 益數據。另外，本研究對公司之總之產採取自然對數值 (Barnea & Rubin,2010)。
2. 產業別 (Industry)
本研究之63 家企業於 DJSI 指數中涵蓋了 24 種不同的產業。然而 24 種產業中其 實存在著較相仿的類型，因此本研究將按照中華民國主計處之統計資訊網的分類濃縮，
成為包含「製造業」、「金融與保險」、「出版、影音製作、傳播及資通訊服務業」、
「住宿及餐飲業」以及「其他」五大類型。

第一節 SDGs 執行情況分析
一、 總體層面
在本章節中，將先以全面性的層次進行分析，了解本研究透過文獻研究法歸 納後，得出新興市場國家進行SDGs 的總體情況，如圖 4-1 所表示。

總體而言，入選道瓊永續指數的新興市場企業在2018 年執行企業永續活動 時，顯示其策略性的選擇某些項目深入執行。其中尤以四項最為突出，如圖4-1 所示，包含SDG 4、7、12 以及 13，分別為教育普及、能源永續、永續消費生產
