本章所載之資料由社會工作局、退休基金會及社會保障基金提供。
社會保障：由社會保障機構執行的一套保障系統或制度。主要是對危難、意外或有需要援助者提供必要的 保障，範圍包括疾病、失業、家庭負擔、殘障、老弱、死亡等。
社會工作：社會保障系統中之社會保護方式，目的是用以防範某種經濟或社會資源出現匱乏，以及對兒童、
青少年、傷殘人士及老年人等易受傷害的群體提供特別保護。
援助：一種金錢或物質上的社會福利活動，目的是滿足個人、群體或家庭（即社會保障或社會工作系統之受 益人）之需要。
受益人：指社會保障或社會工作系統之受益人；倘屬物質上（社會服務設施方面）的受益人，則為服務使用 者。
中心：在本章內專指社會工作局屬下之專責部門，負責在澳門某一區域進行有關之服務。
供款單位（社會保障基金範圍）：受社會保障法例約束之人士，如僱主和僱員。在本章內僅指僱主。
由於進位的原因，金額總數可能不等於各數合計。

Os quadros deste capítulo contêm informação fornecida pelo : Instituto de Acção Social, Fundo de Pensões e Fundo de Segurança Social.
Segurança social : Sistema ou regime de resposta a riscos, eventualidades, ou necessidades, assegurado pelas instituições de segurança social. Cobre as eventualidades de doença, desemprego, encargos familiares, invalidez, velhice e morte.
Acção social : Forma de protecção social, integrada no sistema de Segurança Social, destinada a prevenir determinadas situações de carência económica ou social e a assegurar especial protecção aos grupos mais vulneráveis, nomeadamente crianças, jovens, deficientes e idosos.
Prestação : Tipo de resposta social, de natureza pecuniária ou em espécie, destinada a satisfazer necessidades do indivíduo, grupo ou família, beneficiários dum sistema de segurança ou acção social.
Beneficiário : Destinatário duma prestação de segurança ou acção social. Se se tratar duma prestação em espécie (equipamento social), designa-se ao utente.
Núcleo : Unidade orgânica do Instituto de Acção Social (IAS), responsável pelo exercício das suas atribuições e competências numa divisão geográfica do Território.
Contribuinte (para o Fundo de Segurança Social) : Pessoas que estão sujeitas à legislação sobre segurança social, designadamente a entidade empregadora e o trabalhador. Neste capítulo, considera-se apenas a entidade empregadora.

EXPLANATORY NOTES
Information in this chapter has been compiled according to the administrative data provided by the Social Welfare Institute, Pension Fund and Social Security Fund.
Social security : System of aid provided by social security organizations in time of emergency, adversity and necessity. It covers sickness, unemployment, family expenses, disability, aging and death.
Social work : A form of social protection under the social security system, which aims to prevent social or economic shortages, and to offer special protection to the more vulnerable groups, namely, children, youngsters, disabled and aged people.
Aid : A kind of social activity in money or in kind to satisfy the needs of an individual, a group or a family (i.e. beneficiary of the system of social security or social work).
Beneficiary : Recipient under the system of social security or social work. If such aid is offered in kind (such as social service facilities), it refers to the service user.
Centre: An organizational unit of the Social Welfare Institute (IAS), that is responsible to carry out its duties in a specific geographical division of the Territory.
Contributor (to the Social Security Fund) : A person who is abided by the social security regulations, namely, employer or employee.
In this chapter, it refers to employer only.
Due to rounding, the totals of financial amounts may not correspond to the sums of the partial figures.
