T. Fang (方賢齊) of the Chiao Tung University Alumni Association of Taiwan, who is currently in this country for business. Information received from Mr. Fang includes the following:
a. The University has recently added two new depart ments, namely, the Ocean Transport and the Tran sport Administration. Freshmen have been admitted this Sepfember.
b. The Alumni Association of Taiwan suggested that, as a general rule of guidance, any financial aid in local curr~n('v丸.UUCllCY In response to requests from the

6 于larship amounts to $8.000 covering school years 1973-74
and 1974一75. The Executive Officers of the Foundation,
after considering this matter. agreed to recommend to the Board of Trustees that a scholarship of $8.000 be granted to Dr. Sheng's children in Canada to support their study program.
Mr. S. K. H 口， as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. subsequently approved the Executive Officers' recomm enda tion. A scholarship of $8,000 will be released acco rdingly.
5, The Executive Officers agreed to establish the following
rule: for processing applications for financial aid:
“ The Foundation will not accept, in general, appli
cations for loans. scholarships, grants or any other
forms of JinanGi8. l ai d direεtly from students or
faculty members of the Chiao Tung. University in
Taiwan. Such applications should be sub.mitted to,
recommended by and transmitted by the University administra'tion to the Foundation for consideration." 6. In our'last fund drive. many contributors were announ
ced. as. anonymous. This was done in response to the wish
of each individual.
Recently, the FouiJ dation has received two requests for
having their names made known. The Executive Officers decided to comply with their wishes and will make an announcement accordingly.

from Mr. 1'. Y. Yang, former President of the Chiao Tung
University Alumni Association of America, transferring
to the Foundation a fund which the Association raised in 1966-1968. A breukdown of the transferred fund is
