WORLD’S BUSINESS LEADERS SEEK GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES AT HKUST A consortium of senior executives from leading multinational corporations and top-notch business academics will gather at HKUST this week to pursue a better understanding of the Asian marketplace and to enhance their skills in developing and managing global business.

Under the International Partnership Executive Development programme jointly organised by Indiana University in the U.S., the European Centre for Continuing Education in France, and HKUST, participants will attend lectures and discussion sessions at HKUST, as well as visit Wuhan, Hubei province.

The preeminence of China in the global marketplace of the 21st century is central to the theme of the week in Hong Kong and Wuhan. Participants will have a chance to explore the investment environment, market trends and management of joint ventures in China.

While in Wuhan,

officials who will brief t/t em on Wuhan’s economic development and foreign articipants will be welcomed by senior government investment environment. They will also meet with key managers of a major Western/ Chinese manufacturing joint venture.

The Hong Kong and China visit is the third and final leg of the international programme, which seeks to equip executives and academics with a global perspective on management and investment strategies. Earlier this summer, they spent two weeks in the U.S. and France.

Professor Yuk-Shee Chan, Dean of the School of Business and Management at HKUST, welcomes the participants to Hong Kong. ‘By blending the experience of senior executives from multinationals headquartered in the U.S. and Europe with the insights of leading business faculty, the IU/CEDEP/HKUST International Partnership for Executive Development programme enhances participants’ ability to evaluate global markets as well as understand the challenges and opportunities in the three continents.”
