For the fifth straight year, the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA (EMBA) program has been ranked the top performing EMBA program in the world by the Financial Times. It also marks the program’s 15th anniversary and its sixth No. 1 ranking in the global survey.
In the newly released Financial Times EMBA Ranking 2013, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program also placed No. 3 in terms of “Aims Achieved”, which measures the extent to which the alumni fulfilled their goals after taking the program. The program placed 3rd in the work experience of students and 5th in terms of their diversity.
The program is jointly offered by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Welcoming the repeated recognition, Professor Tony F Chan, President of HKUST said: “The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA provides the highest quality of executive education, fostering perceptive business leaders and strategic organizational thinkers who have the global insight and understanding to efficiently plan and effectively manage in today’s increasingly interconnected world.”

Professor Kalok Chan, Acting Dean of HKUST Business School, said the secret of the program’s success has been an unbending focus on innovation. “When it was launched in 1998, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA was the first inter-continental EMBA program in Hong Kong and Asia,” he said. “While we celebrate the program’s 15th anniversary and its remarkable achievements, we will continue to uphold the spirit of innovation, and stimulate new thinking to help students to meet challenges ahead in a global context.”
The Financial Times EMBA Ranking 2013 tracked the career advancement of the 2010 graduating class three years after they attained the EMBA qualification.
The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA graduates have achieved the highest average salary three years after graduation, reaching US$416,806 per annum, representing an increase of 47% from their average pre-EMBA salary. Their career progress was ranked No. 9 by the Financial Times. The program's research ranking stands at No. 17 in the world.

This year, the program continues to bring in new content and learning experiences with the addition of new courses to its curriculum and enhanced support for students. They include a capstone course that takes a CEO-level view of strategic decision making; more core courses in economics and finance; and a compulsory global elective at one of its partner schools abroad.
